Michael Baring-Gould Scholarship
The Michael Baring-Gould Scholarship offers financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to University of Alaska Anchorage students with Sociology or a related social science major.
Recipient must be enrolled as a declared UAA major in an undergraduate social sciences program or enrolled in an Interdisciplinary Masters program that includes sociology as one of the disciplines. Recipient must demonstrate involvement in a project area of study, which reflects a commitment to social justice, peace, equality, and/or empowerment of minorities. Recipient must have completed at least thirty (30) credits, enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credits prior to the semester the award is granted and at least twelve (12) credits the semester the award is granted. Recipient must submit a personal essay which should be no more than 500 words and two letters of recommendation. Recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
