Dixie Light Endowed Scholarship for Baccalaureate Completion in Nursing

To promote completion of the Baccalaureate degree in Nursing by Registered Nurses who are residents and licensed for practice in Alaska. This fund is to offer financial assistance for tuition, registrations, fees, books, and other related education expenses to a Registered Nurse enrolled in full or part-time study toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Recipient must have been an Alaska resident for three years prior to the semester in which the award is used. Recipients must be Registered Nurses who have completed a diploma or Associate of Applied Science program in nursing education and who are residents of Alaska. Recipients must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.0, and, if baccalaureate nursing courses have already been completed, a nursing grade point average of 2.5. Recipients must have applied for admissions to the Bachelor of Science program in nursing option at UAA. Recipients must have completed a UAA School of Nursing application and have three references on file in the UAA School of Nursing. Recipients must have completed six credits of degree applicable course work at UAA. Recipients must have received academic advising within the UAA School of Nursing and have a completed plan of study on file. Recipient must be a resident of Alaska.
