First Fruits Scholarship for Working Students
To provide financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to students currently enrolled at the University of Alaska Anchorage who demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students are who currently employed and working at least twenty hours per week. Preference will be given to students who complete the additional essay elaborating on how this degree will be used to improve the lives of others. The essay should discuss any specific financial or social obstacles the applicant has faced or overcome to achieve their college degree, with information on how the student is currently employed and legacy connection with UAA. Preference will be given to students who are past recipients of this scholarship. Financial need must be demonstrated each year. Preference will be given to students who graduated from high school in Alaska, or have legacy to UAA through their parents.
