Eveline Schuster Memorial Scholarship
Eveline Blanka (Mueller) Schuster was born July 30, 1946, in Hirschegg, Austria. She graduated from business school in Sonthafoen, Germany, in June 1962.
Mrs. Schuster married Edmund J.E. Schuster on Sept. 16, 1979. They had two children, Martin, born in 1984, and Andrea, born in 1986.
From 1970 to 1979, Mrs. Schuster managed a bed and breakfast from the Schuster home. Prior to that, she was a teller in a local bank in Austria. From 1979 to 1981, Mrs. Schuster worked as a manager at the National Bank of Alaska. Then from 1981 to 1986, she did clerical work for the Anchorage Community College. During this time she received an Associate of Arts in English from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 1984. Mrs. Schuster was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed tutoring and volunteering in the reading lab. She was also a board member of the German Club of Anchorage.
Mrs. Schuster passed away in 1994. Mrs. Schuster’s husband, a retired UAA sociology professor, established this scholarship in July 1998 in her honor.
